Today was a good day! One semi-major incident happened in the morning but there were no repeats throughout the day.

Students conducted their first cell lab today. Everyone in attendance completed the onion cell lab.

It was Global Maker Day and the 4, 5, 6th STEAM Academy Satellite students worked together to make music, make bridges, make origami, and more.

Groups set up the petri dishes for their "Fuzzy Mud" project.

We had a nice walk to Rio del Sol. Students worked with their buddies making climbing spiders and teaching a bit about arachnids. They were able to participate in an upper-grade Rio del Sol Assembly. AND they delivered recyclable bottles to ASB for a school-wide project.

Today was sports team day for Red Ribbon Week. A few students wore team clothing.

Students constructed texture-based artistic works today. They worked well together and cleaned up nicely.

Mr. Guynn is visiting classrooms to talk with students about respect. Today he visited my class.

Several students wore Red or Hearts for Day 1 of Red Ribbon Week.

I debuted the Hypothetical Graphic Organizer to introduce our lesson on Paleoanthropology. The students were attentive, polite, interested, and actively involved when asked to talk.

The narrative writing project is coming to fruition with some amazing miniature books. Students will read them to their 1st-grade buddies tomorrow.

Everyone was well behaved in the library.

A student made a connection with The Bridge Home today that got us all wondering about what is (or has) going to happen to Rukku!

Partners worked VERY well together today!

The morning meeting was interesting and educational. Students did a quick spider search and found many species of spiders in preparation for the Friday Buddy lesson.

Students are very attentive during Read Aloud and are enjoying The Bridge Home by Padma Venkatraman.

The MOXI visit was very valuable. Students were engaged and cooperative during the Engineering task, Greenhouses on the Moon.  I enjoyed seeing how the students applied what we had done in class previously.

After the lab experience, students were able to spend time on each floor of the Wolf Museum of Exploration and Innovation. They really had fun working alone, in pairs, and in teams exploring the various exhibits.
